This is a small, low-key, authentic little Mexican restaurant. Don't expect much shazamm from their decor. It is a big room with tables and chairs. There was only one server, she greeted us quickly and took our orders. I had the enchilada, burrito, and tostadas. The food was excellent. Chicken and beef were shredded, tender, very tasty. Tostadas was fried perfectly and despite being drenched in sauce, it remained crispy. We asked for hot sauce and the waitress brought us a huge bowl of it. Service was a little bit slow as we were trying to get the check. Food 4.5/5 Service 4/5 Value 4/5 Decor 3/5, but I liked it because it kind of reminds me of a small town restaurant in Mexico.

Come here quite often after a hard training session since its one of the few places on 4th avenue that accept credit cards and is close to the gym. The service is pretty good and the establishment is clean. One thing I have to say is that the nachos weren't that good, so I would stay away from that. Most of their other platters are pretty good and they have a decent selection on the menu.

Food was pretty good. Our table tried the Enchilada Burrito, Mulita with steak, and cemitas with carnitas. Ordered tap water but was informed there was some problem with the water so they brought us bottled and water and charged us without even asking if that was cool. Food took over 15mins to come out and we were the only people in the restaurant so that was kind of strange. Bit on the pricier side (~8bucks per dish). If you got the craving and are passing by it'll do the job but if you want a better bargain you can find one within a few blocks in any direction.

Food was hit and miss: - great salsa that came with chips... spicy and flavorful. - decent carnitas - lousy, boring beans - even worse rice coupled with over-boiled veggies. - tortillas seemed store-bought I was hoping for more since the place is kitchy-fun. However once my food came, I never saw my server again. I had run out of sauce, drink, napkins and - when I got up to pay - wasn't asked about my food or even really engaged. There are better places in Sunset Park.

I've only found Tequilitas to be OK, not particularly great. The times I've been the service and food have both been decent, but not awesome. I think the prices are pretty standard. FYI for anyone vegetarian or anti-pork: the huevos rancheros here come with an unadvertised slice of ham right on there. I just pulled it off but people more serious about contamination would have a problem. I'll probably be back, but only because they're on my block.

Tequilitas Restaurant gives this Mexicana hope that NY Mexican restaurants will step up there game. Finally, a Mexican restaurant that doesn't Americanize the food for the mainstream. The servers are very sweet and helpful, they give the place a very homey feeling. My favorite things on the menu are the Torta Al Pastor, Coctel de Camaron, y los Enchiladas Suizas and the refried beans... dear lawd, amazing!! You can always tell the legitimacy of a Mexican spot by the quality of their refried beans. I could bathe in them, they are that delicious.

My family stumbled onto Tequilitas and were happy with its authenticity and menu options. They asked for the verde salsa (hot), that's the best. Of their 3 menu choices, the tacos asada were the best they've had this side of Mexico. The chile rellenos were large and tasty but served with a liquid that wasn't quite a sauce and made them soggy. Sopa de pollo was hearty and flavorful, mexican rice was not the best (tasted warmed over). Service was slow but friendly. They will definitely go back for the tacos and said that your visit isn't complete without the horchata! And the price is right--good food cheap.

The two women who wait tables are very nice, and the service is fast. The food is very good, and it won't set you back much. I admit, I don't eat in as much as I would like--I live a block away so I usually get takeout--but the extensively themed restaurant is more fun than anything. I also speak next to no Spanish, and its never a problem. Overall, this place is really great. Its fun, cheap, laid back... just enjoy it for what it is. It may not be the best food you've ever had, but it certainly is a great neighborhood haunt.

Very clean restaurant and the food was very good, but not authentic Mexican. The chicken tacos had no cilantro and white onions, only lettuce and tomato. The chicken mole was good, but not spicy. I don't mind not spicy but usually authentic Mexican food is spicy unless you ask for mild.

I'm a transplanted Californian and have joined the ranks mourning the lack of good, affordable Mexican food in the city, only to discover it down at Tequilitas. It doesn't look fancy, and features the same light up displays on the back board that you'd find at a number of Mexican and Chinese places, but the food is cheap, good, and plentiful, and the service is excellent.

average food sub par service. Had to walk up to the counter to ask for chips and salsa. Extra star because it was so cheap.

Excessive Mexican-themed items adorn the walls of this quaint little joint. Its jukebox is strictly Spanish language artists, and their staff is very friendly and always smiling. The food here is fantastic. The stuffed poblano pepper is incredibly good for the price, with the skirt steak really holding up well with the great rice and refried beans and pork skin. Oh, and the burritos, light yet huge, they don't have a lot of depth but are freshly made with very good, a little salty guacamole. The quesidillas are terrific. Its just solid food, better than a lot of places in the city, and as with my review of El Buen Gusto, these places are all over the place on 4th, 5th, 6th avenue.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
